It is the new center of the world when it comes to gossip and pretty much useless information. Celebrities write about their lives pretty much once a minute and a bunch of people with too much time on their hands read posts all day. It’s Twitter, the new social networking site that allows you to submerge yourself into anyone’s life, whether you know him or not. But submerging is what a business needs to do with a client, which is why it can be such a powerful tool for an up and coming company.
There is no easier way to reach potential clients than the internet, and there is no easier way to reach a massive amount of people on the web than Twitter. You sit, you write 140 characters and people will undoubtedly start following what you say, especially if they are interested in what your business provides. Ad campaigns, promotion, and brand positioning can be achieved for free and when done right, a Twitter account can provide thousands of followers, which means many new potential clients.
Just think about it, a business cannot allow an opportunity like this to pass by without taking advantage. When has there ever been a platform that allows completely free advertising for millions of people at a time? The worst you can do is get a few followers and even then you gain something because you were never spending any money in the first place.
It’s not easy to get a massive amount of followers if you’re not Ashton Kutcher or Lance Armstrong, but it is very possible. Your posts need to be creative, to the point, and different from your competitors’. They need to call out for a new audience, not just tell them about something. So give it a shot, with thoughtful writing you might just stand out in a community of millions.
